On modern CPU types there is an option to parallelize computations by means of addressing two logical CPU cores for each physical CPU core. This process is called simultaneous multithreading (SMT) and makes the CPU work considerably more efficiently. Having made only very positive experience with active SMT during the past many, many years in hosting business, we provided all VDS with this beneficial feature.
